Abstract

The study was aimed to find a model of community empowerment based on local wisdom as an effort to reduce Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR). The research method was dominant-less dominant design. The result showed that the behavior of pregnant women in the effort to decrease the risk of MMR was a high risk. Community beliefs related to the health aspects of the mother were still strongly.
