Abstract

This study systematically explores how CEO strategic orientation and management team diversity affect entrepreneurial strategic decisions. From a high-level theoretical perspective, CEO strategic orientation is the main determinant. Different leadership styles have different behavioral patterns. Specifically, aggressive CEOs tend to choose high-risk, high-return breakthrough strategies, such as disruptive innovation. They value proactively seizing market opportunities. In contrast, defensive CEOs systematically prefer low-risk, stable strategies, such as incremental optimization. They value maintaining existing competitive advantages and pursue risk aversion. The study revealed the complex role of diversity in management teams. It is a key contextual factor that affects strategy implementation. Cognitive diversity can enhance strategic adaptability and stimulate innovative potential - especially valuable in dynamic market environments. However, much functional diversity may bring significant implementation difficulties. These difficulties are mainly reflected in differences in strategic cognition, such as conflicting goal priorities and resource allocation disputes, which may ultimately weaken the coherence and effectiveness of strategic execution.
