Abstract

This article aims to find out the law regarding the protection of indigenous peoples in the law related to the environment in Indonesia. In the pre-reformation era, especially at the beginning of legislating on environment, there is no law regarding indigenous peoples. After the amendment, the existence of indigenous peoples began to be discussed and the law required the government to pay attention on the existing customs. In the post-reformation era, the existence of indigenous peoples has received more attention compared to two previous law. It even provides attribution to the central and local governments to expedite the recognition of indigenous peoples.
