Abstract

This study aims to study the design changes that occur on the cover of the famous rock band from Malaysia, Search. The case study was made on 5 studio albums which are Cinta Buatan Malaysia, Langit dan Bumi, Mentari Merah di Ufuk timur, Fenomena and Karisma. It is undeniable that the designs had undergone many changes and in relation to the development of the country's music industry and the social, economic and politic aspects in the year of music album's production. The collected data will be analyzed and evaluated based on the three graphic elements of colors, visuals and typography used on the album cover design. In conclusion, the development of the music industry affected the designs of album covers in the country.
