- Abstract
Copyright is also called copyright in China. As a product of the printing era, copyright protects the priority rights enjoyed by the author in the process of work transmission, and also protects the interests of disseminators such as publishing houses and printing houses. In today’s Internet age, information has become faster and cheaper to spread. The author hopes that his works can be more widely spread, and the disseminators of the new era, such as network platforms and network media, also hope to reduce the payment for the use of copyright. In this context, the copyright licensing agreement Creative Commons Zero (hereinafter referred to as “CC0”) came into being. Works licensed under CC0 will enter the public domain directly, and any subsequent use of the work by any individual or group will not be restricted by the copyright owner. However, CC0 may be contrary to China’s existing laws while opening up the public access channels. Therefore, it has not been widely used in China. This paper introduces and analyzes CC0 in detail, and studies the legitimacy of CC0 in China’s legal system and the possible infringement issues involved in its application, in order to provide a theoretical basis for better application of CC0 in China.
