Abstract

Although social accounting matrix (SAM) method has been widely applied to the national economic accounting and economic development, it still ignores important information such as interactions between economy and education. In order to explain the relationship between economic activities and educational activities, this paper extends the SAM educationally based on Inner Mongolia 2007 data. The multiplier and structural path analyses are applied to the SAM for evaluating educational impacts of education-related economic and fiscal policies. The results show that the educationally extended SAM can be a useful tool in education policy analysis.
