ABSTRACT

Edmodo media is expected to help students learn independently by balancing theoretical and practical learning which is carried out online. Interaction and activeness of students, lecturers or parents is the success key to independent learning. The research objective was to determine the validity and effectiveness of Edmodo media in the Javanese bridal make-up course. The research method uses R&D, experiments with one group pretest-posttest design. The population is 37 students of the Unnes’s Beauty Study Program who take Javanese bridal makeup courses. The sampling technique is total sampling, normality test analysis, t-test, n-gain test, and percentage descriptive. The results showed that the product validity was very good, the effectiveness of Edmodo media was based on cognitive learning outcomes is normally distributed. The result of Gain test 47.1% in medium criterion. The mean of affective learning outcomes: 3.69 and the psychomotor: 3.62, student responses 65%, lecturer responses 71%, and parents responses 64%. The conclusion is Edmodo’s valid as a learning media with very good and effective categories for Javanese bridal makeup courses. The results of the cognitive aspect are moderate criteria, the criteria for the affective aspect are very good, and the psychomotor aspect is very good criteria.
