Please note that IJCIS publishes all its papers as Open Access papers which will be freely available to anyone. Accepted papers will be published once the Article Processing fee has been received from the author.
IJCIS receives many papers and has to be selective in accepting papers. Therefore, please note that any paper submitted to IJCIS has to comply to the following rules:
Papers can only be submitted using our editorial system. Email submissions are not accepted and not replied to.
IJCIS publishes original research papers in the fields of computational intelligence research and applications. IJCIS accepts only original research articles and book review articles.
High quality research papers are considered for publication if they have not been published previously and are not under consideration elsewhere. Authors are reminded that papers are published to be read and should compose their works with as wide audience in mind as is consistent with the maintenance of scientific quality.
As of 1 May 2018 all papers have to be submitted to our new Editorial Manager:
http://www.editorialmanager.com/ij-cis/. If this is the first time you submit to IJCIS then you will have to register first and then submit your paper.
Please specify during your submission to which of the following areas your submission belongs:
For each of the above areas an 'area-editor' is responsible for all papers submitted in this area. However, the Editor-in-Chief alway makes the final decision.
IJCIS requires all papers to be prepared as Word or LaTeX-files as this will give the best formatting results. However, for the submission, please use a PDF version of your article.
For the submission of a paper in LaTeX or Word, the author is required to read and use use the IJCIS instruction files, templates and samples which have been prepared by Atlantis Press. For both LaTeX and Word a ZIP file is available. For LaTeX instructions, please click here. For the Word instructions, please click here.
The publication of an article in a peer-reviewed journal or conference proceedings is an essential building block in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It is a direct reflection of the quality of the work of the authors and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support and embody the scientific method. It is therefore important to agree upon standards of expected ethical behavior for all parties involved in the act of publishing: the author, the journal editor, the peer reviewer, the publisher and the society of society-owned or sponsored journals.
IJCIS is published under the Creative Commons (CC) licence. Copyright of the articles published in IJCIS is handled conform to the Creative Commons License number 4 agreement (attribution, non-commercial) (see for details: https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/4.0/). When submitting your paper, you will be required to accept this licence.
Please note that the copyright remains yours, meaning that you, as an author, will keep the ownership (copyright) of your article.
After a first check whether the paper is within the IJCIS aims and scope and of reasonable scientific quality, all papers are reviewed by at least one external referee and by one member of the Editorial Board.
Based on their review reports a final assessment will be made by the Editor-in-chief. The Editor-in-chief takes the final decision on the acceptance of a reviewed paper. Four outcomes are possible:
After submission the corresponding author receives a confirmation of reception. Due to the many papers we receive the review process may currently take 2-3 months, but this depends strongly on the subject and the details of the article. Our main policy is not to compromise on quality, so in some cases the reviewing time can be longer. Once a paper has been accepted for publication you will be asked to pay the Article Processing Charges for the Open Access publication of your paper. Once this payment is received, the paper will be elaborated by our copy-editor, so that it is suitable for on-line publication at the IJCIS website. Before its publication, the galley proofs of the paper will be sent to the corresponding author for proofreading.
All papers as Open Access papers. Papers will be prepared for on-line publication on the IJCIS website after acceptance by the editor-in-chief and once the Article Processing Charge (APC) has been paid. From then on they will be available in PDF to anyone free of charge. Authors will receive a copy of the final file as published in IJCIS, incl. IJCIS formatting and page numbers.
In the acceptance letter of your paper the link to the payment-page is provided. Through this link you can pay the APC for your paper, either through your PayPal-account or with a credit card. Once paid, the paper will go in production immediately.
