Abstract

Synthesis of (±)-2-(6-ethyl-2-(4-methoxyphenyl)-1, 3-dioxan-4-yl) acetaldehyde, an important intermediate of (±)-Cyanolide A (1), was described, which was commenced from commercially available methyl acetoacetate.
