The 14th Asia-Pacific Conference on Transportation and the Environment (APTE 2025) was successfully held from August 9–11, 2025, in Hangzhou, China, organized by the School of Vehicle and Mobility, Tsinghua University. Continuing the distinguished legacy of the APTE series, this edition served as a premier platform for scholars, policymakers, and industry professionals to exchange knowledge and discuss transformative innovations in the field of sustainable and intelligent transportation.

The main theme of APTE 2025, “Emerging Transportation Solutions for Building Efficient, Sustainable, Reliable, and Inclusive Transport Systems,” underscored the urgent need to advance transportation technologies and policies that support climate resilience, inclusivity, and urban livability. The conference program featured a rich combination of plenary and keynote sessions, technical paper presentations, and thematic panels, covering frontier topics such as artificial intelligence in transportation, intelligent connected vehicles, multimodal integration, public transit optimization, travel behavior modeling, and low-carbon mobility strategies.

The conference attracted a wide range of international submissions and showcased rich scholarly diversity. Contributions were received from authors representing numerous countries and regions across Asia, Europe, and Oceania, reflecting the growing global engagement with sustainable and intelligent mobility research. Following a rigorous double-blind peer-review process involving independent experts from academia and industry, all submissions underwent thorough quality evaluation and selection. After careful deliberation by the Scientific Committee, 22 papers demonstrating strong originality, methodological rigor, and alignment with the conference theme were accepted for inclusion in this proceedings volume. The papers presented in this volume cover a diverse set of research directions—ranging from data-driven approaches to transport safety and demand modeling to policy frameworks for sustainable urban mobility and advanced simulation for emerging mobility technologies. Collectively, they represent the forefront of interdisciplinary efforts that integrate engineering, data science, policy, and environmental sustainability to address complex transportation challenges.

The Organizing Committee would like to express its deepest gratitude to all authors, reviewers, and session chairs for their dedication, as well as to the keynote speakers for sharing their invaluable insights and advancing academic dialogue on the future of mobility. Sincere appreciation is also extended to the sponsoring and supporting institutions, whose collaboration and encouragement made the success of APTE 2025 possible. As one of the leading conferences in transportation and environmental studies, APTE continues to serve as an intellectual bridge between research and real-world practice. It is our hope that this proceedings volume will inspire new collaborations and contribute to the global pursuit of smarter, greener, and more inclusive transportation systems.
