- Abstract
The Minnan-style architecture combines the traditional architectural style of Minnan with Western architectural elements, serving as an outstanding example of the integration of and Western architecture in modern Chinese architectural history, and is of great historical, cultural, and artistic value. However, such buildings are mostly of masonry-wood composite structure and their structural seismic performance faces severe challenges in the face of natural disasters such as earthquakes. Based on the basic principles of seismic isolation and energy dissipation technology, combined with years of practical, this paper systematically studies the seismic reinforcement strategy applicable to this type of building. Through in-depth analysis of the weak links in the traditional structure of the architecture, this paper innov proposes the optimization design of seismic isolation layer, the adaptability design of energy dissipation and isolation device, and the reinforcement scheme that is coordinated with the building style. The results of verification with the actual engineering case of Jimei University Town in Xiamen clearly show that the application of seismic isolation technology can reduce the base shear of the structure by about 0%; the introduction of energy dissipation technology can significantly reduce the main seismic damage of the structure to 0.3. The application of these technologies not only significantly improves the seismic performance the architecture but also effectively protects the historical style of the architecture during the reinforcement process, achieving a win-win situation between architectural safety and cultural heritage.
