Abstract

Yan Zhitui's "Yan's Family Instructions" is the earliest family education monograph in China, and is known as "the ancestor of Chinese family instruction". "Yan's Family Instructions" has a high research value for the elaboration and generalization of family education thought, and has enlightenment significance for modern family education. This paper makes a comprehensive analysis and reflection on Yan Zhitui's family education thought, probes into his family education thought of "strictness" and "love" and the principle of "equal love", and tries to find out the enlightenment of these educational thoughts on modern education concept.
