Abstract

The Arctic zone of the Russian Federation is a unique in its characteristics macroregion. The analysis of its specifics shows that it is able to become a driver in economics growth and socioeconomic development of the country in the midterm. The key role in the economic development of the Russian Arctic will be played by the implementation of export-oriented projects on oil and gas recovery. A successful realization of this scenario of development faces a number of restrictions of judicial, economic, natural and climatic, ecological, and technological type, etc. These negative factors should be taken into account for economic policy implementation in the given macroregion.
