Abstract

Metaphorical uses of wind in English and Chinese can be classified into two types: in the form of idiom and in the form of single word. Wind’s attribute in the source doamin is mapped onto the target domain to talk about the target concept. The most frquently uesed metaphor is related to the force of wind, including the driving force and destructive force.
