Website: https://www.icedss.net/ As time advances and scholarship endures, the 3rd International Conference on Educational Development and Social Sciences (EDSS 2026) was successfully held in Beijing, China, from January 16 to 18, 2026. The conference brought together scholars, educators, and researchers from universities across multiple countries, engaging in in-depth and fruitful dialogues on diverse topics such as educational innovation, technology empowerment, social transformation, and cultural heritage. Building on the academic traditions of its two predecessors, this year's conference achieved significant advancement in both the breadth of themes and the depth of reflection, demonstrating distinct interdisciplinary, cross-regional, and cross-cultural characteristics. The conference agenda was both intensive and substantial. Following the opening ceremony, keynote speeches were delivered by Prof. Rami Khalil, Assoc. Prof. Chew Fong Peng, and Prof. Cherian George, offering participants insightful and strategic academic perspectives. In the subsequent oral presentations, scholars from institutions including Minzu University of China, Sichuan University, and Hubei University shared their latest research findings in their respective fields. The poster sessions and the interactive discussions during the closing ceremony further sparked sustained intellectual exchange. The active engagement of scholars from multiple countries ensured that the conference not only demonstrated an international outlook but also retained rich regional characteristics, laying a solid foundation for diverse academic dialogue. This proceedings brings together 53 papers addressing a wide range of profound topics, collectively reflecting the cutting-edge developments and research depth in the current interdisciplinary domain of educational development and social sciences. The contributions span multiple dimensions, including the digital transformation in education, the integration of artificial intelligence into teaching and learning, engineering education and professional competency development, cultural heritage and interdisciplinary innovation, as well as educational policy and assessment systems. This collection vividly illustrates the sustained efforts of researchers in advancing both theoretical exploration and practical implementation. Several papers focus on the integration of artificial intelligence and educational transformation, such as generative AI-enabled classroom interactions and LLM-assisted assessment, highlighting practical pathways through which technology can drive educational innovation. Concurrently, research also engages in dialogues between local and global contexts, such as educational governance within Chinese-style modernization and the contemporary adaptation of traditional culture, demonstrating scholarly endeavors to uphold cultural consciousness amid globalization. Furthermore, topics like the intelligentization of vocational education and the interdisciplinary integration of engineering education underscore a practical orientation in education—one that responds to societal needs and promotes the holistic development of individuals. The successful convening of this conference has not only forged a cross-regional, interdisciplinary exchange platform that embodies an international perspective, academic depth, and social relevance, but has also crystallized the collective reflections of global scholars on cutting edge issues in educational development and social sciences. Here, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all authors, peer reviewers, keynote speakers, and organizing staff. We hope that the insights and reflections encapsulated in this proceedings will inspire more scholars, educators, and practitioners to engage with and explore questions related to education and societal progress, working together to contribute academic strength to the sustainable advancement of human society.
