Abstract

The work touches upon certain aspects of the literary activity by the Great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy pertaining to his acquaintance with Italy. The paper presents a very vast array of topics and, in particular, the overview of his direct contacts with Italy, including journeys, recorded personal impressions about the country, published articles, and the Italians’ public response to the literary giant’s death.
