- Abstract
The article contains a brief review of symphony orchestra forming in the XVII-XVIII centuries and considers a role of the stringed keyboard instruments in it. The changing of the functions of these instruments in the orchestra of the 19th century and some Romanticism elements of piano introduction into the orchestra as a coloring instrument are analyzed.
