Evidence-based Analysis of Psychological Intervention for Menopausal Syndrome

- Abstract
The research aims to systematically evaluate the effect of psychological intervention on perimenopausal syndrome. We searched CNKI, VIP, WanFang Data and China Biomedical Literature Database to collect randomized controlled trials on psychological intervention combined with drugs for menopausal syndrome. After data extraction and quality evaluation using exclusion criteria, a total of 28 articles were included, with 2264 patients. Meta-analysis showed (1) in symptoms: Kupperman scores with psychological intervention decreased more significant than drug treatment [MD=5.55, 95%CI(4.76,6.34), P<0.00001]; (2) in emotions: SAS[MD=8.54,95%CI(6.21,10.86),P<0.0001] and SDS[MD=12.20,95%CI(8.33,16.08, P<0.00001] decreased more significant than drugs; (3) in the total efficiency: psychological intervention after total curative effect is obviously better than simple drug treatment [OR=7.32, 95%CI(5.11,10.50), P<0.00001]; (4) in hormone: it showed no differences in E2 and FSH levels whether before or after psychological intervention, while for LH, the results stayed different. In conclusion, combined therapy of menopausal syndrome showed great effects on improving symptoms, efficacies, and negative emotions, but not for hormones.
