Proceedings of the 2014 International Conference on Advanced ICT (ICAICTE 2014)

After the success of ICAICTE 2013, the 2014 International Conference on Advanced Information and Communication Technology for Education (ICAICTE 2014) will be held on August 16-17, 2014 in Dalian, China. ICAICTE 2014 focuses on using ICT in education which includes practice, technology and theory. Since ancient times, research in education has never been discontinued. In particular, with the emergence of ICT, which evolves very quickly, so have the changes in the research of education (e.g. theory and practice which go with these evolving technologies).

The use of ICT in education is becoming ever more important. ICT is the medium of young people and plays a pivotal role in their lives. ICT can significantly reinforce and deepen knowledge and understanding. Nowadays, many researchers focus on promoting, coordinating and facilitating the use of information and communication technology (ICT) to enhance teaching and student learning.

The aim of this conference is to provide a worldwide forum, where the international participants can share their research knowledge and ideas on the recent and latest research on AICTE and map out the directions for future researchers and collaborations. Researchers and graduate students are welcomed to participate in the conference to exchange research findings in the frontier areas of Computers in Education.

ICAICTE 2014 is sponsored by International Association for Cyber Science and Engineering. ICAICTE 2014 has received about 200 submissions from 13 countries and regions. The papers come from both academia and industry reflecting the international flavor of this event in the topics of ICT in education, business, management, and other related areas. Based on the review reports, 76 papers were accepted to be presented in ICAICTE 2014 by the chairs. All the accepted papers have been presented on the conference, mainly by oral presentations in three sessions viz., Information and Communication Technologies, Education Technologies, Management Technologies, Research progress of ICT in China, and Research progress of Pedagogy in China.

All the presented papers will be published by Atlantis Press, and submitted for indexing to Thomson ISI ( ISTP, CPCI, Web of Science), Scopus (by Elsevier) and EI/Compendex.

We express our thanks to all the members of the General Committee Chairs, Program Committee Chairs, Technical Program Committee and Volunteers who worked so hard to prepare the conference and chair the five sessions in ICAICTE 2014 . And we also thank Prof. John Paul Loucky for the excellent keynote speech.

We hope that ICAICTE 2014 will be successful and enjoyable to all participants. We look forward to seeing all of you next year at the ICAICTE 2015.
