- Abstract
The change in the way of life did not lead to the change of the spatial organization of the Russian Federation. The country mechanically follows the Soviet or the imperial model of development. The main communication lines come together in the capital, while the contrast between the latter and the regions is only getting stronger. The successful experience of a number of countries proves the effectiveness of the “national space” model, based on interregional ties, on assuming responsibilities and on self-sufficiency of the regions.
