Abstract

Music of the mid-17th-early 18th century is a little-known and poorly studied part of Russian culture. The manuscripts found in the archives during the last decades have modified our notions about the artistic heritage of the greatest composers of that time. In 2013, the present author discovered 36 previously unknown four-part concertos by Diletsky. On the basis of the preserved part-books, 32 scores have been compiled and edited; currently they are being prepared for publication. The paper considers the manuscript sources, the concertos’ verbal texts and various forms of the interaction between text and music.
