Abstract

In this paper, the stages of the visual sociology development as an independent discipline in the structure of scientific knowledge are shown and the core elements of this approach to the study of the social processes are defined. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the place of visual sociology as an independent scientific discipline in sociological knowledge. Evaluation of the methods used in visual sociology and their relevance in connection with the growth and development of new technologies that form a new virtual visual human environment. The inclusion of visual sociology in the BMSTU curricula for the sociologists training is substantiated.
