Preface The 6th International Conference on Contemporary Education, Social Sciences and Humanities (Philosophy of Being Human as the Core of Interdisciplinary Research) was held on April 22-23, 2021, at Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (RUDN University) Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The conference was held online on the Microsoft Teams platform.

ICCESSH 2021 was jointly organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Moscow, Russia); Department of Philosophy of National Chengchi University (Taipei, Taiwan); Hotel Business and Tourism Institute of Peoples' Friendship University of Russia (Moscow, Russia); International Science and Culture Center for Academic Contacts (Moscow, Russia), Zhengzhou Yingchun Conference planning Co., Ltd. (Zhengzhou, China), and sponsored by Russian Foundation for Basic Research (Russia).

The main focus of the discussion at the conference was the nature and the status of the modern human. ICCESSH 2021 proceedings include articles on education, philosophy, philosophical anthropology, sociology, psychology, theory and history of culture, religion, and ethics related to the analysis of human issues in history and contemporary societies. The collection consists of 46 articles submitted by researchers from ten countries: Russia, the United States, Portugal, Great Britain, China, Syria, Taiwan, the Slovak Republic, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Canada.

We want to mention here some of the topics of the speeches that aroused great interest among the participants of the conference: "Rethinking human identity "in" and "beyond" borders: de-localization and re-localization of religious cultures in global dynamics"; "Anthropological changes of the person of the digital era"; "The prospects of IR 4.0 for developing sustainable human communities: a Christian theological perspective"; "Franz Rosenzweig's dialogic humanism in The star of redemption"; "Mass media — human being — society: specifics of interaction in the digital age"; "Beyond classical metaphysics: how to consider the new ontology of man"; "Martin Buber's Philosophy and Integral Ecology"; "A person in self-isolation mode: the transformation of religious communication under the influence of the COVID-19 Pandemic"; "Actualization of ethnic identity in the digital age."

Let us express our gratitude to the distinguished guests of the conference for their scientific contribution to the study of the relevant problems and the experts, reviewers, members of the committees who contributed to the organization of ICCESSH 2021 and the preparation of materials for publication.
