- This research focuses on whether the Communicative Learning Teaching (CLT) has an effect on the English Learning and Teaching process in STIE Madani Balikpapan by applying CLT in the classroom activities. Students still find English to be a difficult subject to learn, and it seems that there is no encouragement or a simple way to learn English in a fun way. This is a descriptive quantitative research that used distributed questionnaire. There were 68 valid and reliable questionnaires that can be analyzed deeply. After being analyzed, it can be concluded that CLT has affected the English Learning and Teaching process in STIE Madani Balikpapan, in ways that there was active participation between lecturer and students, students learned English in an interesting way in terms of role play and games while lecturers act as the one who give guidance. Students are given chance to choose which activities that can enhance their better learning in English. Since communicative language teaching (CLT) has influenced English Learning and Teaching Process in STIE Madani Balikpapan, lecturers are advised to apply this approach in their classroom activities and encourage their students to actively participate in each activities, whether inside or outside the classroom.
