Abstract

As different limit state functions are used to analyze reliability, there is a great distinctness among the calculated results. In this paper an improved LOSM method is proposed, namely, checking point method. The circular arc gear case is employed to demonstrate this method. In contrast to the results of Monte Carlo simulation, this method can greatly improve reliability calculation’s precision.
