Abstract

Cultural values of Kien Giang people play a vital role in the process of building and developing Phu Quoc into an important tourism and marine economic center of Vietnam in the modern period. With the traditionof patriotism, diligence, hospitality, and solidarity in Kien Giang, the people here, especially Phu Quoc residents, have contributed to preserving and promoting indeligenous cultural values, forming a solid foundation for substainable development. Cutural values such as lifestyle in harmony with nature, customs and practices regarding the sea and islands, folk beliefs, traditional festivals are preserved, developed and combined harmoniously with modern trends. Culinary cultures, folk art, and creative start-up spirits contribute to building a friendly and attractive image of Phu Quoc in the eyes of tourists and investors. Kien Giang people with adaptability, progressive spirits and responsiblity for community are decisive factors in protecting the ecological environments, preserving cultural identity, building a strong foundation to promote Phu Quoc’s comprehensive development, becoming a cultural - tourist destination of national regional, and international level.
