Proceedings of the 1st International Conference on Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (ICECCEP 2019)

The agreement of the Ministers of Education and Culture in Southeast Asia at the SEAMEO Council Conference (SEAMEC) in July 2019 in Kuala Lumpur - Malaysia is in the field of Early Childhood Education and Family Education. This agreement is a top priority and will be implemented by empowering SEAMEO CECCEP as the leading sector. The role of SEAMEO CECCEP is very important because the purpose of establishing SEAMEO CECCEP is as a leading institution in the areas of research, capacity building, advocacy and collaboration in the fields of early childhood education and family education in the Southeast Asia region.

So far, the education priorities of Southeast Asian countries are basic education and literacy completion, while early childhood education and family education have received less attention. This was realized by the Ministers of Education, and the Ministers agreed to make early childhood education and family education a top priority. To catch up with other regions in the era of global competition, countries in the Southeast Asian region will pay more attention to the implementation of Early Childhood Education and family education.

By striving to better Early Childhood Education and Family Education, it is hoped that the main problem faced by people in the Southeast Asian region, namely the problem of stunting, can gradually be eliminated. Early Childhood Education in accordance with its stages is the fulfillment of children's rights to love and good nutrition. This will help reduce the stunting rate faced by several countries in Southeast Asia.

Thus, it is our pleasure to welcome you to the 1st International Conference on Early Childhood Care Education and Parenting (ICECCEP) 2019 in Bandung, Indonesia. This is a collaborative work between SEAMEO CECCEP, Ahmad Dahlan Yogyakarta University and Tanoto Foundation. A major goal and feature of it is to bring academic scientists, policy makers, practitioners and researchers together to exchange and share their experiences and research results about most aspects of early childhood education, care and parenting, and discuss the practical challenges encountered and the solutions adopted.

ICECCEP 2019 tried to be both stimulating and informative with a wonderful array of keynote and invited speakers from across the regions. Delegates will have a wide range of sessions to choose from and will have a difficult decision in deciding which sessions to attend.

This conference activity is very useful for stakeholders in Early Childhood Education and Family Education in the Southeast Asia region, especially bureaucrats, academics, practitioners and observers from community institutions to exchange ideas, ideas, understandings in realizing Early Childhood education and family education. better in Southeast Asia.

We would like to thank the organization staff, the members of the program committees and reviewers. They have worked very hard in reviewing papers and making valuable suggestions for the authors to improve their work. We also would like to express our gratitude to the external reviewers, for providing extra help in the review process, and the authors for contributing their research result to the conference. The study, showcased in this proceeding expected to provide input to the regional government as well as early childhood education, care and parenting practitioners and academics.
