Abstract

In August 2011, chrome pollution incident happened in Qujing County, Yunnan, China, which caused the attention of the people all over the world. In this paper, the chrome hazards for the health, the routines of chromium residue and Cr-containing wastewater treatment process and the newest research progress--biological materials adsorption method, biological degradation and urban sludge treatment method were reviewed. Finally, the innovative processing method, "reducing barriers" thoughts were introduced.
