The 2026 8th International Conference on Economic Management and Cultural Industry (ICEMCI 2026) was successfully held in Beijing, China, from June 12 to 14, 2026. As an established interdisciplinary academic platform, the conference continued its mission of fostering dialogue and collaboration among scholars, researchers, and practitioners working at the intersection of economics, management science, media, and cultural industry development. This edition of ICEMCI brought together over 100 participants from universities, research institutions, and industry sectors across multiple countries and regions, with 239 submissions received and 95 papers accepted for presentation after rigorous peer review, ensuring both academic quality and thematic diversity.

The intellectual core of ICEMCI 2026 was significantly enriched by three distinguished keynote speeches delivered by internationally recognized scholars. Prof. Holger Mathias BRIEL from Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University provided critical insights into contemporary economic transformation and interdisciplinary governance frameworks. Prof. Lin Xiu from the University of Minnesota Duluth addressed emerging challenges in global economic systems and data-driven management approaches. Lastly, Prof. Nurul Shahnaz Ahmad Mahdzan from Universiti Malaya contributed a comprehensive analysis of financial behavior, sustainability, and regional economic resilience of the sector. Together with the oral presentation sessions, these keynote lectures created a multidimensional academic dialogue that connected theoretical advancement with applied research across economics, management, and cultural industries.

The conference program covered a broad spectrum of thematic areas, reflecting the evolving landscape of economic and management research as well as the rapid transformation of cultural industries, with a large part played by AI introduction and usage. Discussions spanned microeconomics and macroeconomics, e-commerce, statistics, marketing, media development, accounting, economic policy, human resources, finance and investment, and economic development, as well as specialized topics such as labor and population economics and agricultural economics. In the field of management, contributions addressed management theory, business administration, public administration, management engineering, financial and cost management, and information economy systems. Meanwhile, cultural industry and development sessions focused on sustainable cultural industry growth, rural tourism economy, digital cultural tourism consumption behavior, brand-driven consumption effects, rural revitalization, agricultural modernization, and broader strategic initiatives such as the Belt and Road construction and Sustainable Development Goals, reflecting the conference's strong interdisciplinary orientation.

Overall, ICEMCI 2026 provided yet again an open and rigorous academic environment that encouraged knowledge exchange, methodological innovation, and cross-disciplinary collaboration. Following the pace-setting keynotes, the oral presentation sessions further enabled researchers to engage in in-depth scholarly discussion, receive constructive feedback, and explore rapidly emerging research directions. The success of the conference is attributed to the collective efforts of the organizing committee, reviewers, keynote speakers, and all participants. It is hoped that the outcomes of ICEMCI 2026, collected in these proceedings, will inspire future research and contribute meaningfully to the advancement of economic management and cultural industry studies in an increasingly complex global context.
