Abstract

One of the tasks of high school student’s development is to develop alternative career planning by considering the ability, opportunities and career variety. This study aims to determine the description of career planning on students in a homeshooling in Surabaya. The approach used in this research is qualitative approach. This research use case study method. Sources of data in this study were students of class XI a homeschooling in Surabaya. Data collection is done by interview, observation and documentation. Based on the results of the analysis, most of the career planning of the students are in the high category and it is known that the planning of the male student’s career is higher than female students. Then, most of the students from science or social science majors are in the high category in planning their future career, and in accordance with the majors taken today. But there are still students who are still confused in planning his career. Advice to counselors, counselors can provide individual planning so that students who have career planning less able to formulate and conduct activities related to future planning based on an understanding of the advantages and disadvantages in itself, as well as an understanding of opportunities and opportunities available in the environment, especially in the field career.
