Abstract

Market globalization and frequent food safety incidents have resulted in consumers' much awareness of the need of food traceability. The objective of this paper is to analyze the current needs and problems of agricultural product traceability in China, and to summarize the achievements and shortcomings of Chinese quality traceability system's construction. Through research and analysis of quality traceability system of agricultural products in developed countries, the paper suggests that agricultural product traceability is key to enforce food safety regulations. Moreover, some countermeasures are proposed for improving the Chinese quality traceability system of agricultural products.
