With continuous development and successful industrial applications of the press hardening technology, there are urgent needs to expand the industrial and research community within this field becoming international exchange platform after successfully holding the conference series. In the rapidly growing market of advanced high strength steel and press hardening, the essentiality of the availability of comprehensive knowledge for the exploration of the corporate economical potential of this technology and to gain and sustain competitiveness is extremely important. We have realized that research and development, at academic and industrial application levels, is one of the most important prerequisites for continuing innovation.

With the rapid development of international hot stamping technology, China has more than 200 hot stamping production lines, and this technology is widely used in automobile body structures; the 6th International Conference on Advanced High Strength Steel and Pressure Hardening (ICHSU 2022) has been held in Wuhan from August 18 to 19, 2022.

The purpose of holding ICHSU 2022 is to satisfy the increasingly urgent requirement of reducing the weight of vehicle structures and increasing passenger safety. This conference arouses great interests and attentions from domestic and foreign researchers in hot stamping field, about 60 papers have been accepted, covering almost all the current topics of advanced high strength steel and press hardening technology.

In the papers of this session, the application of large and complex tailor welded blanks technology has increased. For example, the application of tailor welded blanks hot stamping forming of car body door-ring is growing rapidly. Hot stamping enterprises pay more attention to how to shorten the production pace and improve production efficiency by improving the process flow and adding auxiliary tools.

The organizing committees are grateful for the great efforts of the editors, reviewers and publisher engaged in this conference proceedings.
