- Abstract
Demetrias was an exceptionally significant port city within the ancient Antigonid Dynasty of Macedonia and serves as a quintessential exemplar of urban architecture during the Hellenistic era. Previous studies have conducted extensive foundational research on Demetrias, primarily focusing on macroscopic urban dimensions or its role within the broader sphere of Greek cultural influence. This paper, however, examines the palatial architectural landscape of the Demetrias site, tracing its developmental trajectory across different periods and drawing comparisons with other contemporaneous Hellenistic cities.
