Abstract

Work–life balance refers to the level of prioritization between an individual’s work and personal life. It is defined as the reduction of work-related stress and the establishment of a stable and sustainable work environment while sustaining health and well-being. It has an increasing impact on both physical and mental health as well as job satisfaction. Balancing one’s work and life has developed into a major issue in the current work environment, requiring employees to balance the expectations of both personal and professional roles. This study investigates work-life balance and the impact of technology on psychological resilience and job retention of library professionals in selected college libraries in Assam. An online questionnaire survey method was used to gather responses from library professionals. The findings intend to characterize the challenges faced by librarians in sustaining balance, technology-induced stress, and job retention. It also provides recommendations for fostering resilience, maintaining work–life balance, and ensuring long-term job retention among library professionals.
