With the development of the new curriculum reform, information technology has gradually penetrated into all levels of school education and teaching activities, and education administrative departments have invested a lot of money to build a perfect information technology environment for the development of information teaching. However, the application of information teaching has not achieved the desired results, especially in the vast rural areas. In order to understand the problems that restrict the improvement of teachers’ information technology application ability in rural areas, this paper conducts a research through field visits and questionnaires. It is found that the main reasons that restrict the development of rural teachers’ information teaching are that teachers’ willingness to self-improvement is not strong, initiative and enthusiasm are not high, and long-term systematic training and follow-up guidance are not followed up, On the basis of investigation, the countermeasures are put forward.
