The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the global educational system over the past two years. In response to the need to reduce the risk of virus spread, online learning has become the predominant policy adopted by educational institutions worldwide. Despite the challenges of online learning, teachers and students have adapted to distance learning through web meetings, Learning Management Systems (LMS), and other online platforms. During this period, topics related to digital learning and Education 5.0 have been the focal points of academic discourse. As the situation evolves, some institutions have started returning to in-person, traditional classroom settings, while others continue to offer online learning, and some have adopted hybrid models. This raises the question of what reforms are needed in the post-pandemic era to shape the future of education.

In light of this, International Conference on Learning and Advanced Education (ICOLAE) invited researchers, experts, teachers, and students to discuss solutions for addressing this question. It is crucial for them to contribute to the understanding of reimagining online education for a better future, innovative learning design, developing new skills for living and working in changing times, global challenges in education, blended learning, flipped learning, integrating life skills into the curriculum, preparing educators for future distance learning, humanities learning in the digital era, assessment and measurement in education, challenges and transformations in education, technology in teaching and learning, and new learning and teaching models. Scholars are also encouraged to present on other interesting topics related to learning reform in the post-pandemic era.

The ICOLAE 2022 conference focused on the theme, “Learning Reform in A Postpandemic Era.” This theme was inspired by the need of learning reformation in post pandemic era and the effective strategies to deal with it. The conference featured three distinguished keynote speakers, Assoc. Prof.Martin Lamb, Ph.D from University of Leeds, UK, Prof. Dr. Kongkiti Phusavat, Ph.D. Kasetsart University, Thailand, and Koesoemo Ratih, Ph.D., who presented valuable insights on how learning reformation should be to address the learning loss during pandemic and post-pandemic situations. It is expected that this international conference will generate various innovative ideas, particularly related to optimizing the role of technology in the educational process.

The conference has seen significant participation, with 272 attendees, including 207 seminar speakers. This demonstrates the strong interest and engagement of researchers in disseminating their research findings related to learning reformation or within the focus and scope of ICOLAE 2022.

Sincerely,
Mauly Halwat Hikmat
