Proceedings of the International Conference on Maritime and Archipelago (ICoMA 2018)

We are delighted to introduce the proceeding of the International Conference on Maritime and Archipelago (ICoMA 2018). This conference proceeding volume covers the written record of most of the contributions with approximately 86 full papers presented in ICoMA 2018 from various institutions and countries such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Japan. ICoMA 2018 was hosted by Universitas Bangka Belitung (UBB) in conjunction with International Conference of Vocational Studies on Applied Research (ICoVAR) 2018 by Vocational School, Diponegoro University (UNDIP) and International Conference of Vocational Studies on Social Science (ICoVOSS) 2018 by Politeknik Manufaktur Negeri Bangka Belitung (Polman Negeri Bangka Belitung). It was held on September, 13th - 15th, 2018 in Bangka Island, Indonesia.

ICoMA 2018 aims not only to stimulate good awareness of researchers, academics, and students to develop their innovation and publications in the area of natural, engineering, and social sciences, to promote Universitas Bangka Belitung and Bangka Belitung Islands particularly to the worldwide community, but also to enhance public enthusiasm on defence of marine and archipelagic threats. Participants may address and discuss the issues, challenges, opportunities, and findings on maritime and archipelago research.

ICoMA 2018 was opened by Rector of Universitas Bangka Belitung. The conference has been highly appreciated even for the Keynote Speakers from reputable academics and also government to share the ideas and comprehensive discussion in an interactive way. The Keynote Speakers are:

However, the overwhelming responses to the call-for-papers had shown the participants’ interest in this kind of issues. We would like to express our appreciation for the work of all reviewers and the scientific committee who selected the highly qualified manuscripts included in the proceeding. We would also acknowledge the members of the organizing team for their hard work and the authors themselves for their contributions to the Conference program and to this proceeding. Many thanks go as well to Diponegoro University (UNDIP) for its help in assisting Universitas Bangka Belitung to prepare this proceeding volume.
