Abstract

For Muslims in Indonesia, Muhammadiyah is the institution that is very popular. The institution of Muhammadiyah not only be a religious social institutions, but more than that the institution of Muhammadiyah is the pivot of civilization Muslims. Institution of Muhammadiyah became one of the important activities of the entire heart of the Muslims of Indonesia, not only as a social institution, but also the religious centre of dawah, schools, as well as other important agendas related to people. With increasing of understanding of Islamic society in Indonesia happens nowadays, Muhammdiyah as institutions, its existence is important for Muslims not only focuses on religious activities, but also developed with social as well as economic activity reviving such as education institutions from elementary to colleges, hospitals, cooperatives, baitul maal wat tamwil, and others. All activities and activities of these programs will encourage the formation of social capital which will help in realizing the brilliance of Islamic civilization as well as achieve falah. The research method used is descriptive qualitative approach with case studies. Data collection is done with the interview and documentation. The technique of the validity of the data using triangular technique data. Technical analysis by reduction of the data, the presentation of the data, and draw conclusions. Based on the data that has been obtained and the analysis that has been done, there are conclusions from the problems that have been raised at the beginning of the study that the Muhammadiyah has an active role in developing the social capital of communities around. It is seen from the efforts of administrators in applying management and makes the Muhammadiyah as institutions solutif in serving the community. One of the elements of social capital that can be seen growing in the surrounding communities is the formation of networks.
