- Abstract
This research and development (R&D) study aims to design and implement a network-based mathematics learning medium in the form of web-based instruction (WBI) to address existing challenges related to interactivity in enhancing students’ mathematical competence. The development process adheres to the ADDIE model, comprising the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The primary product of this study is a WBI platform specifically developed for high school students to support the improvement of their mathematical skills. To examine interactivity-related issues, data were collected using structured questionnaires administered to both teachers and students. These instruments evaluated three core dimensions of interactivity: (a) student-to-content interactivity (SCI), (b) student-to-teacher interactivity (STI), and (c) student-to-student interactivity (SSI). The data were analyzed to determine the overall level of interactivity within the platform. Results reveal that the developed WBI successfully incorporates interactive features aligned with all three indicators, yielding a composite interactivity score of 0.8886, which reflects a high level of effectiveness in addressing interactivity challenges. Furthermore, this study identifies and discusses the specific obstacles encountered in the development of interactive WBI for mathematics education.
