- Abstract
Barrier free facilities are an embodiment of the concept of “people-oriented”, and a necessary condition to ensure that vulnerable groups such as the disabled participate in social life and share the fruits of economic development. The outline of the 14th five year plan clearly points out that we should strengthen the capacity-building of service facilities and comprehensive services for the disabled, and improve the policy system for the construction and maintenance of barrier free environment. Based on the current situation of the supply and distribution of barrier free facilities in western Guangdong and from the perspective of spatial justice, this paper explores the distribution characteristics of barrier free facilities in different spaces in western Guangdong and the evaluation of barrier free facilities by the public. It is concluded that there is an obvious mismatch between the types and quantity of barrier free facilities in western Guangdong, emphasizing construction and neglecting management, It also puts forward policy suggestions such as improving the top-level system design of barrier free facilities construction, following the river director system, implementing the responsibility of the first person in charge, and establishing the responsibility list of relevant parties of barrier free facilities, which provides a useful reference for the construction of barrier free facilities.
