Proceedings of the 3rd International Conference on Vocational Higher Education (ICVHE 2018)

We are happy and delighted to present the 3rd International Conference on Vocational Higher Education (ICVHE) in Batam, Indonesia on August 2nd - 4th, 2018. Vocational activities are a particular concern to improve the competency of Indonesian workers in the current and future era of labour competition. In the era of rapid Information technology evolution, Vocational Education Program of Universitas Indonesia continues to follow the evolution through various research, especially on applied research.

We would like to express our gratitude to the keynote speaker: Prof. Dr Koh Young Hun (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS), Seoul, Korea), Mr Janoe Arijanto (President Director of Dentsu Strat), Dr Lam Kin Chung (John Harvard Fellow, Harvard University, USA) and Mr Gavin Chay (Consulate General of Singapore), who have participated in our conference to share their valuable experience. Also, I would like to thank the Rector of Universitas Indonesia for all his support.

ICVHE conference is a very meaningful event where all expertise from vocational higher education institutions can share their experiences and knowledge to develop applied research in Indonesia and abroad. Our theme, "Understanding Digital World: From Theory to Practice" is expected to prepare us for the era of 4.0 in the field of vocational higher education. This volume contains 70 full papers, the conference tracks are: Track 1- Administrative, Business and Information Technology: Contemporary economy is dependent on information technology (IT) and most companies are obliged to turn to the electronic market to achieve competitive advantage and advance business performance; Track 2-Health and Science: The new digital technologies are described as a major contributor to a range of revolutionary science in many different sectors, including health services; Track 3 - Law and Social Sciences: The rise of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) has changed information availability in legal and social disciplines; and Track 4 - General Issues: The digital keywords such as openness and transparency are many open opportunities and challenges. These topics aim to bring the best practice of technology application in daily life.

We would like to thank the Steering Committee and the Executive Committee for their dedication to this conference and this 3rd volume of ICVHE proceeding book. We strongly believe that ICVHE conference provides a fruitful forum for all researchers, government officials and vocational practitioners to discuss all aspects that are relevant to Vocational higher education. We also expect that the future ICVHE conference will be as successful and enhancing as the papers presented in this volume.
