- Abstract
Using the mean-field approximation, we employ the transverse Ising model with the next nearest-neighbor interactions to investigate the phase transitions in a ferroelectric thin film. The dependence of the Curie temperature on the transverse field, the surface exchange interaction and the thin film thickness are calculated. The next nearest-neighbor interaction is supposed to decay with the distance between the pseudo-spins as a power law.
