Abstract

Ultrasonic echo signal from running rail defect detection equipment generally contains noise, which makes it hard to identify the defects. In this paper, wavelet transform based approach is proposed to process the ultrasonic echo signal. Through the experimental verification, the proposed method is effective in detecting the defects of rail under running operation.
