Abstract

Research on this development practice can increase the creativity of the media for creating art in the Department of Fine Arts. The development of this technique can improve the teaching and learning quality, especially in mixed media painting practice. Directly or indirectly, the wealth of fundamental theories play a significant role in the continuity of learning development of fine arts, especially in painting. The application of the mixed media painting technique with ceramics is in Mata Hati Studio. This research aims for students in the Department of Fine Arts as a self-provision to know and understand more deeply the characteristics of media and materials. So, students can appreciate or visualize it as a decent work with good aesthetic values, which deserves to be considered in Indonesian painting. The need for material for developing ceramic media techniques is to teach students an understanding of creation using various media so that they are more diverse in their application. It also stimulates their creativity in the knowledge of techniques, media, and materials. This research was created by four painting works with ceramic media at Mata Hati studio. This development’s benefit is to develop creativity in learning mixed media painting techniques.
