Proceedings of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang's 1st International Conference of Mathematics Education (INCOMED 2017)

Mathematics Education constitutes is one among a number of Department in University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) and potentially for continuously developing science as well as technology. This department has been one of the notable department managed by UMM as the biggest private university in East Java Province, Indonesia. Mathematics Education Department is currently organizing an event titled: “First International Conference on Mathematics Education” (1st INCOMED).

This department has held a national conference dated back in 2010 and has successfully arisen public attention from a huge number of educational practitioners. Pursuant to the Decree of the Minister of Education Number 20 year 2017 concerning on the professional fringe benefit of lecturer and professors stated in article 4, Indonesian lecturer academically ranked at least as Lector Kepala (Head Lector) to improve the quality of their scientific publication.

The first International Conference on Mathematics Education participated by 112 scientific participants that contributed to the development of science. Total 87 papers were presented during the day formed the essential discussion for exchanging information and also collaborating on each other work. Each paper in this conference reviewed by two reviewers. In this conference, we invited Prof. Dr. Mohd. Salmi Md. Noorani from School of Mathematical Sciences Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Dr. Lilla Adulyasas from Yala Rajabhat University Thailand, Chanakya Wijeratne, Ph.D, the Senior Lecturer & Former Head Department of Mathematics, University of Colombo, Nhelbourne K. Mohammad, M.Ed. from Cotabato State University Philippines, Dr. M. Syaifuddin, M.Si from Study Program of Mathematics Education, University of Muhammadiyah Malang . All of the invited speaker have spoken about the education which specific in Mathematics Education.

This 1st INCOMED was very successfully with the full range of the Mathematics Education discussion. The plenary session with paper presentation integrate all aspects of sciences related to Mathematics education give plenty of opportunities for both participants and institution for better research collaboration in the future. We would like to express our gratitude to all conference committee, students, and participants who have contributed in this conference.
