- Abstract
The territory of the Urengoy deposit is characterized by the in-stability of thermodynamic equilibrium of geological environ-ment, due to the existence of permafrost. The article investigates the geological section of the area, its oil and gas potential, analyzes the geological and physical information. The oil and gas potential within the Urengoy oil and gas region is established in a wide stratigraphic range. The results of drilling and testing of explora-tory wells are also presented. Almost all the deposits are compli-cated by tectonic screens, the presence of which is confirmed by the history of the deposit exploitation.
