Proceedings of the International Symposium "Engineering and Earth Sciences: Applied and Fundamental Research" dedicated to the 85th anniversary of H.I. Ibragimov (ISEES 2019)

These conference proceedings include peer-reviewed original research papers of the 2019 International Symposium on Engineering and Earth Sciences (ISEES) that was held on 12-13 June 2019, in Grozny, Russia.

The event was dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the outstanding Chechen scientist and community leader, professor Khamzat I. Ibragimov. Doctor of science Khamzat Ibragimov is known for his contribution in chemistry and also as a founder and the head of the Complex research institute affiliated with Caucasian center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (CRI RAS). Dr. Ibragimov passed away in 2006, and the CRI RAS was named after him.

The main goal of the ISEES 2019 was not only to provide the local scientists with the opportunity to present their research results at the international level, but also to develop academic communities in the Chechen Republic and to make them globally recognizable. This conference offered opportunities for the delegates to share new ideas with each other, to establish business or academic ties, as well as to find international partners for future collaborations. The conference program was extremely rich. It was accompanied by powerful presentations of the selected papers and meetings with speakers from leading regional academic and governmental institutions. It was a period of intense learning for everybody in the scientific areas of engineering and Earth sciences.

The ISEES 2019 proceedings include up-to-date, comprehensive, and valuable research papers in such fields as geography, geology, ecology, civil engineering and materials science. All the accepted papers were submitted to strict peer-review by 2 expert referees. The papers were selected based on their originality, significance and clarity to meet the purposes of the conference. We sincerely hope that this volume will deliver to the readers not only a broad overview of the latest research results on Earth, environmental and materials sciences, but also provide a unique opportunity to learn more about the North Caucasus region and its scientific community.

In addition, we would like to reflect on and take the opportunity to thank the participants and organizers of the conference, who supported the participants and helped in holding the symposium throughout June 12-13. First and foremost, we want to express our deep gratitude to the invited speakers and the reviewers for their efforts and invaluable help in this exciting event.
