Abstract

To investigate the seepage evolution patterns of gravel-stabilized heavy clay slopes under dry-wet cycling conditions, a comparative study was conducted using large-scale indoor slope model tests and numerical simulations. Through five wet-dry cycles, the slope morphology, moisture content, and migration characteristics of the wetting peak were monitored before and after improvement. A numerical model incorporating wet-dry cycle effects was established to simulate the evolution of the slope seepage field during multiple rainfall-drying cycles. These findings provide valuable reference for seepage analysis and protective design of heavy clay slopes in regions with seasonal climate variations.
