- Abstract
The main problem in the use of speedboat river vessels is the carbon monoxide (CO) exhaust emissions produced by the speedboat river vessels. This can have an impact on air pollution or pollution on speedboat river vessel passengers. So that passengers can get Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI). This study aims to determine the air quality produced by carbon monoxide (CO) exhaust emissions on Speedboat River vessels in Palembang City with the provisions of the Implementation of Motor Vehicle Emission Quality Standards referring to the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry Number 8 of 2023. This study uses a quantitative method by testing the levels of exhaust emissions of river vessels in the form of carbon monoxide (CO) gas. The results of the speedboat river vessel exhaust emission data show that the exhaust gas produced from each speedboat river vessel contains low carbon monoxide (CO) gas and does not exceed the threshold for exhaust emissions of Carbon monoxide (CO) parameters. The exhaust emissions of carbon monoxide parameters from 15 river speedboats in the city of Palembang are low and do not exceed the threshold of 1% and 0.5% according to the provisions of the Regulation of the Minister of Environment and Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number 8 of 2023 concerning Emission Quality Standards for Category M Vehicles or vehicles carrying passengers/people.
