Abstract

With the development of economic globalization and socialized division of labor, logistics industry has been playing significant role in improving industrial modernization, competitive advantage of manufacture, and national economic quality. Taking Xinjiang as an example, total output value of logistics increases by years, while its cost decreases dramatically. Manufacturing industry plays a vital role in national economic development of China, a manufacturing power. It is necessary and essential to strengthen the supporting role of logistics towards manufacturing and leading role of manufacturing towards logistics, so as to improve interactive development of two industries. This paper builds a depth grey correlation analysis model, analyzes the correlation development of manufacturing industry and logistics industry in Xinjiang, establishes an evaluation indicator system including volume of freight traffic, rotation volume of freight transport, total industrial output value, storage, total output value of mail business and total output value of eleven main manufacturing industries in Xinjiang. The eleven industries are categorized into three groups in accordance with correlation degree. For instance, textile industry, non-ferrous metals mining and dressing industry are closely correlated with logistics industry. Finally, in terms of practical situation of Xinjiang and analysis results, some recommendations for policy making are proposed
